Mr Mahmoud  holds a law degree from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, a BL from the Nigerian Law School and a master degree in Law from University of Lagos and is a certified member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, International  Arbitration Centre Agel Gate, London.

Mahmoud Yakubu served as an Arbitrator to the Industrial Arbitration Panel between 1989 – 1998. He started his career at the Bauchi State Judiciary in 1978 as a Court Registrar.

He rose through the ranks to Chief Magistrate, 1984 – 1989. Upon voluntary retirement from the Judiciary he started private Legal practice in the year 1998.

Mahmoud has attended various Courses and Seminars both at home and abroad, particularly Institute of Legal Studies, Lagos. He is happily married with children.
